Whitecap Consulting is delighted to be sponsoring a Digital Strategy Workshop and Golf Day hosted by the Institute of Directors in Harrogate on 14th September 2015.
The workshop aims to provide business leaders – especially those not directly involved in digital activities and industries – with a broad understanding of relevant digital concepts, terminology and best practices.
Meanwhile, the 10 hole golf event will provide an enjoyable networking element to the day’s activities, and will include a par 3 challenge and raffle in support of St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds.
Digital Strategy Workshop
Digital literacy has become a core competency for every senior director, even those without the word ‘digital’ in their job titles. This is inevitably something of a challenge for the majority of company directors, educated and trained in an analogue age before Google, Facebook and the digitally-powered customer behaviour that the younger generation takes for granted.
In a recent IoD membership survey, 54% of respondents claimed that they would ‘be left far behind if they didn’t embrace digital technology’.
Many will admit to feeling ill-prepared when it comes to understanding how to make the most of the new opportunities it provides. These business leaders are also likely to recognise the need for help in managing the digital experts within their own organisations.
The aim of this workshop is to provide business leaders – especially those not directly involved in digital activities and industries – with a broad understanding of the role and potential of subject areas such as digital marketing (including social media, PPC, SEO, real-time bidding, programmatic display and email marketing), the ubiquitous ‘big’ data and emerging digital technologies (including mobile, Augmented Reality and the ‘Internet of Things’).
Golf day with a difference
Golf is often criticised as a game that takes too much time, a bit like cricket before T20. Whitecap and the IoD have combined golf, networking and CPD to deliver a format to suit today’s busy business executive.
Schedule for the day:
- 1pm – Coffee/tea, light snacks, networking
- 2pm – 10 holes golf, stableford, individual and team prizes
- 4.30pm – Networking & BBQ
- 6pm – Digital Strategy CPD Workshop
The first groups will tee off at 2pm, and by 8pm at the very latest guests will be on their way home armed with a wealth of digital insight and knowledge, having also enjoyed an afternoon of golf and networking.
For non-golfers or those who want to learn / practice, you have the option of arriving for the BBQ and workshop, or using the practice facilities at Rudding Park, which include a 6 hole par 3 course. We can also arrange group or individual lessons – please contact us for more information. Places are limited to 24 people for the golf part of the day.
