Whitecap is delighted to announce that we are sponsoring and supporting Leeds Digital Festival 2016, which this year will include significant focus on FinTech.
Leeds Digital Festival originates from the digital community of Leeds, Leeds City Council, and TechNorth (the Government’s initiative to promote and support digital entrepreneurship). The festival will take place between the 25th of April and the 30th of April, and offers a variety of events and seminars in and around Leeds.
The organisers represent over 3,500 digital businesses. Companies already involved in Leeds Digital Festival include KPMG, Bloom, Dotforge, Epiphany, Jaywing, FutureLabs, Futuresound Events, Media Yorkshire, and of course Whitecap Consulting.
Stuart Clarke, Festival Director and Associate at Whitecap Consulting, says: “Leeds Digital Festival is all about collaboration and celebrating the great digital talent we have here. Leeds has so much potential and so many great companies, across a number of sectors, and we’re aiming to come together and make us a stronger region.”
Julian Wells, Director of Whitecap Consulting, adds: “The financial technology sector has stolen many of the headlines in the fast paced evolution of the digital economy. Leeds has been relatively under the FinTech radar though and Leeds Digital Festival is a great opportunity to generate more profile and collaboration around the tremendous work going on in our region.”
One particular event we will be supporting is FinTech North, a full day event that takes place at AQL in Leeds on Wednesday 27th April. Click here to book your place.
We are working with peer-to-peer lender rebuildingsociety.com, sister company White Label Crowdfunding, and aql to help organise FinTech North, which is set to be one of the showcase events of the week. It will involve a number of keynote presentations and an Innovation Showcase Competition for FinTech start-ups.
Tom Cheesewright, Applied Futurist and founder of Book of The Future, is confirmed as a keynote speaker.
The event will take place in aql’s historic Salem Chapel, a venue with cutting edge technology and old elegant features.
The goal is to provide delegates with a fascinating day of insight and networking with some of the region’s best known FinTech companies.
Attendees will:
- Hear keynote presentations from recognised Digital, FinTech, and financial services experts
- Learn more about the FinTech landscape in the north, particularly the Leeds City Region
- Listen to pitches from some new and exciting FinTech innovators
- Gain a better understanding of how FinTech innovations can impact your business, today and tomorrow
- Meet new contacts and expand your network in the northern FinTech community
